The North Brooklyn Boat Club is having a fundraiser later tonight. Here’s a chance for you to celebrate the summer with your neighbors, eat good food, jam out to some music and have a great time, all while enjoying a beautiful view.
Williamsburg Bridge lane closures
Tomorrow, the Department of Transportation (DOT) will be conducting its usual maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating expansion joints and trusses on the Williamsburg Bridge. One lane on the outer roadway will be closed a a time.

TONIGHT: Tenant Resource Fair in Bushwick
Tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Hope Gardens Community Center gym, the city Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and local elected officials are hosting a tenant resource fair.
It’s a chance for residents to get information on their rights and responsibilities, housing code violations, housing court, protections under the New York State rent stabilization laws, harassment protection, discrimination and more.
Manhattan Avenue Chase catches fire
Early this morning, the Chase at 794 Manhattan Avenue caught on fire, according to the FDNY.
On the FDNYalerts Twitter page, followers were alerted to a commercial fire on the 1st floor. An hour later, the Twitter account posted that it was under control.
It appears the building wasn’t damaged, just the sign, which has to be removed, according to media reports. No injuries have been reported by authorities.
Grab a drink with the Greenpoint Chamber
Celebrate the start of summer by grabbing a drink with the Greenpoint Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, June 21 at 6 p.m.

Last week was the 116th annual Brooklyn Day. Every year, the Borough President’s office hosts the event at a different park in Brooklyn.
Two years ago, it was at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Last year, Brooklyn Day was in Canarsie. This year, Borough President Eric Adams took the festivities to McCarren Park.
With public schools closed, dozens of kids and their families enjoyed a nice, warm day playing in the sun. They were given free food, courtesy of Subway, and even free lemonade.

City finally offers to buy land for Bushwick Inlet Park
For those who have asked, “Where is our park?” for the last decade, the answer may be coming soon.
The de Blasio administration made an offer to acquire the land, currently owned by CitiStorage, for a whopping $100 million. Federal, state and local elected officials gathered last weekend to urge the company to take the deal.
“You are recognized in the Greenpoint and Williamsburg communities as being philanthropic, as caring about open space, and as giving back to the community at large,” writes Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen to CitiStorage in an open letter. “As such we hope that you will partner with the city and accept this very generous offer so we can work, together, making this important park – which the community has been advocating for decades – a reality.”

Pedestrian/Bike Safety Event Today!
Troop 996’s Joseph Nieves (Eagle Scout Service Project), the Department of Transportation, NYPD and Transportation Alternatives are hosting a pedestrian/bike safety event today from 1 to 5 p.m. at St. Francis School Yard.
The event will feature fun and educational activities, a free bike light giveaway and free raffle prizes. Bikers are also encourages to bring their bikes and register them, courtesy of the NYPD.

TOMORROW: Planting with Audubon New York
These kids are putting the green in Greenpoint.
Audubon New York is teaming up with the Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund to plant native plants for birds with third graders from P.S. 110.
It’s part of an education program that teaches children environmental awareness, science and appreciation of nature. For eight weeks, these students learned about the natural world, participated in bird walks and even took a field trip to Prospect Park.
Their culminating project is providing birds essential food and habitat by planting these greens.
Join them on Friday, June 10, starting at 9 a.m., at 124 Monitor Street.
