Meeker Avenue Plumes Meeting

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is hosting an information session on Thursday, December 1st to give updates about the Meeker Avenue Plumes.

The plumes are a “conglomerate of toxic chemicals mixed with groundwater lying underneath the eastern section of Greenpoint.

The meeting will take place between 2 and 4 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Polish & Slavic Center at 176 Java Street.

The DEC staff provided a fact sheet for additional details.
