Those were the words exclaimed by Lou Selamaj, the owner of the restaurant, located at 59-60 55th Road.
Selamaj, a retired NYPD sergeant with roots in Maspeth and Ridgewood, is going “all-in” on the bar and grill that first opened in 2017 and developed a local following before going on a hiatus for renovations.
Selamaj renovated the space by creating an open layout, adding new televisions, including a huge 144-square-foot TV, constructing a high-tech DJ booth and two VIP style areas.
It is now positioned to offer party space for groups celebrating a birthday, graduation or any special event.
The menu was revamped as well. The MPH will still be serving brick oven pizza and Italian favorites such as calamari, chicken parm and linguini with clam sauce. But they have also added comfort food items such as wings, burgers, wraps, loaded nachos and more.
“This pizza has become my favorite,” said Angie S. from Maspeth. “Love the Margarita pies.”
“So happy I found this place. I work in the area and I started getting sick of the same food options,” added Malgorzata M. from Williamsburg. “This is a nice change for me and the office staff.”
The Maspeth Pizza House is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Sunday to Wednesday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday to Saturday.
